About Our Church
Church History
First Baptist Church of Princeton was founded as the Bright Hope Baptist Church. It started as a prayer group in 1880 meeting in homes. The growing congregation purchased this property for $ 1,400.00. The cornerstone of the church building was laid in 1885. In 1930, the congregation name was changed from Bright Hope Baptist Church to First Baptist Church. During the planning in the 1950's for Avalon Place, early plans called for moving the church building. The congregation refused to sell their property, and the church building survived on its current parcel.
Church Mission
The purpose of the First Baptist Church of Princeton congregation is to give visible form to that faith and fellowship to which God has called His people.
